A joint venture between Legacy Partners and HGC Investment Management has topped out on 880 LYN, a 293-unit luxury waterfront community in the Las Colinas area of Irving, Texas, located on more 3 acres on Lake Carolyn. The nearly $46 million, five-story multifamily property is being built by KWA Construction and is scheduled for completion in October 2021.

Brian Webster, KWA Construction president, said in a prepared statement the development will offer everything working professionals and young families would desire in a home.

Previously known as Legacy Lakeshore, 880 LYN is designed by REES Associates and will have units ranging from 580-square-foot studios to 1,945-square-foot two-bedroom apartments. The property offers lakeside views and a variety of amenities including a resort-style pool and spa with grilling stations and private cabanas and a two-story, high-grade cardio and strength fitness center. Other amenities include a demonstration kitchen, wine grotto, sports bar and lounge, card room, business center, video conference room and private party suite with a kitchen, living area and dining room seating 14. The community will also have direct access to a new docking facility with water taxi service, paddle boards and kayaks for resident use.

880 LYN is located near public transit including the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the Las Colinas Area Personal Transit System (APT), allowing easy access for commuters. The apartment community is about 15 miles from Dallas and is one of the latest projects in the rapidly growing area of Las Colinas. It is KWA Construction’s first project with Legacy Partners.

KWA PROJECTS

In May, KWA Construction broke ground on Phase II of Columbia Renaissance Square in the southeast area of Fort Worth, Texas, for developer Purpose Built Communities. Phase I, featuring affordable independent senior living apartments and mixed-income apartments, was built in 2017. Phase II will focus on a mixed-income housing strategy and community wellness. Also in May, KWA Construction completed The Village at Rayzor Ranch in nearby Denton, Texas.

In March, KWA Construction and Lang Partners topped out The Cooper, a 390-unit multifamily community in Fort Worth that is expected to be completed this fall. Work on the project began in April 2019.
